Robyn, who is semi-retired, had an 8 panel solar power system installed on her home in May 2011 What made you decide to invest in solar panels? “I decided to invest in solar because I wanted my old age to be more comfortable without the increasing electricity bills. I have gas central heating and wanted to stay warm in winter. So I also see it as a bit of an offset to my gas bills as they are going up too." How does it feel to be generating your own energy? When they were installed I felt wonderful and elated. I felt that I’d done it all myself and achieved something. I’m convinced the decision was a good one. |
