Getting Your New Meter

If you've had your solar power system installed it's important for you know that the process is not yet complete. As you know, for your solar feed-in to be calculated and credited to your electricity account, your electrical distributer needs to come and install your new meter. This process to get a meter installed can be lengthy due to the number of steps and amount of paperwork involved.

EnviroGroup will submit to your retailer on your behalf an Electrical Works Request (EWR), Certificate of Electrical Safety (CES) and a Photovoltaic (Solar) Generator Connection Form (this is also sometimes incorrectly called a Schedule 1)

Each retailer has a different process from here, however all require the following two things:

1.    A confirmation and agreement of the meter change over costs.
2.    A Feed-In-Tariff (PFIT) agreement form

Some retailers require you to call them to agree to the costs and they will then send you a PFIT agreement.

Others automatically send a new contract to you along with PFIT agreement. All of them require this to be done before raising a service order with your distributor to action the meter changeover.

We highly recommend that you contact your retailer once your system has been installed to ask for the PFIT forms to be sent to you.
