Carbon Neutral

Why not go the whole way, and make your home carbon-neutral? There are so many ways you can reduce your impact on the environment, and many rebates to ease the cost of doing so.

EnviroGroup have many years experience in design and consultation, and we can also work with builders and architects to integrate sustainability into your home. We have a number of engineers and project managers on staff, and we have carried out extensive work with local councils and government.

See the chart below for the average home's energy usage.

With so many options to reduce your carbon footprint, where would you begin? The list below give you a good starting point, and the most effective way to reduce your impact.

Energy-efficient lighting

Replacing your existing lighting with efficient globes will have a dramatic effect on your power bills, and the amount of electricity you consume in the home. With so much new technology on the market, we can offer complete solutions to meet any budget. Click here for our efficient lighting site.

Insulation

As you can see in the chart above, we consume nearly half of our electricity on heating and cooling. Much of this is being lost through poor insulation. Upgrading the insulation in your ceiling, floor and walls will make a huge difference to the thermal performance of your home, and there are also generous rebates available. Click here for more.

Solar Water Heating

It may be an obvious choice, but Solar Hot Water is the most effective way to reduce your impact. It will also provide the biggest return on your sustainable investment. Up to 80% of your hot water will be produced by the solar panels, with any small difference in Winter coming from electricity or gas. Click here for our Solar Hot Water page.

Grid-connected Solar Power

Solar Electricity has become the most popular way to offset your electricity use, on the back of some very generous rebates. Any excess power you produce during the day will feed into the grid, spinning your meter backwards and building credit against your bill. Click here for more information.
